NCC, LPCC ‐ Clinical Director
Shaula graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Fort Lewis College and a Master of Counseling degree from Arizona State University. Shaula helps people understand how the body and the brain respond to traumatic experiences. Trauma is experienced through the body, and memory of the trauma is often fragmented. Shaula approaches trauma work by focusing on physical body sensations and using grounding/calming techniques. She also works to bring a client’s awareness to their thinking patterns, which influence emotion, body sensations, and behavior. Shaula also uses the sand tray to help clients of any age to process past experiences through physical/creative expression rather than talk therapy alone. She likes to empower her clients to find the solutions that best fit their personal goals so they can make the necessary changes in order to live a happy and fulfilled life.
