Project Aware (Advancing Wellness and Resiliency in Education)

Project AWARE is a partnership between Farmington Municipal Schools and Desert View Family Counseling to develop a sustainable infrastructure for school-based mental health programs and services.

Currently, We will be offering a Project Aware therapist at Farmington High and Tibbetts Middle School.

The District’s long term goal is to build a collaborative partnership that includes community-based providers of behavioral health care services, school personnel, community organizations, families, and school-aged youth.

Based on a public health model, this partnership will implement mental health related promotion, awareness, prevention, intervention and resilience activities to ensure that students have access and are connected to appropriate and effective behavioral health services.

In addition to therapist, the program offerer 2 Navigator positions (case coordinators) to ensure all of the families needs are being met, not just while the student is at school for the day.
