Family Support Services (FSS)
Family Support Services (FSS)
About this service
- Family Support Services is a multifaceted, short-term, community based program.
- The intent of the program is the help the family through setting goals to meet the basic needs of their children, provide parenting support, and prevent future maltreatment.
- FSS is a goal oriented program designed to assist families who have CYFD (Children’s Youth & Families Department) involvement. We assist families to local resources such as counseling, housing, medical, and financial assistance and more.
Eligibility
- Families who have substantiated or unsubstantiated cases of abuse or neglect and are in need of support and case management.
- If a family is needing a longer term service, more intensive service, or have higher safety concerns we can transfer from FSS to IFSS with CYFD involvement in that decision.
Duration and Referral
- FSS works with families from 6 weeks to 6 months depending on needs and progress on goals.
